Global Sustainable Biofuels Project Interview

A three-stage project “Global Sustainable Bioenergy (GSB): Feasibility and Implementation Paths” has been started to investigate how bioenergy (fuels and electricity from plant biomass) could potentially contribute to addressing global sustainability, energy supply and rural economic development challenges.

In this interview transcript in the first issue of 2010 of Biofuels Bioproducts and Biorefining, Professor Bruce E. Dale of Michigan State University, USA and Editor-in-Chief of Biofuels Bioproducts and Biorefining, and GSB Project Steering Committee Chair Lee Lynd, Dartmouth College, USA, discuss the GSB project and large-scale bioenergy production. They touch on the new approaches and creativity that will be needed in this exciting project to resolve issues related to sustainable production of energy from biomass including environmental and food security concerns.
