| Overview | This patent discloses a method of processing corn kernels to produce modified animal feed and ethanol. The method advantageously utilizes pretreated lignocellulosics to produce various biomass fiber sources as animal feed to increase the digestibility for cattle. The process includes, A) removing the pericarp and germ from corn kernels forming a starch and a protein and separating the protein from the starch, B) liquefying, saccharifying and fermenting the starch to produce a fermented starch broth, C) distilling the fermented starch to obtain ethanol and stillage, D) pretreating the lignocellulosic material by mixing with stillage and C) mixing pericarp, germ and the pretreated lignocellulosic material or agricultural processing residues and fermentation solids to produce feedstock. |
