| Overview | This patent discloses a process for producing L-threonine using Escherichia coli FTR 1201 strain KCCM-10422 whose chromosomal fadR gene has been knocked out under conditions. The knock out procedure is carried out by mixing a knock-out cassette with a culture of an L-threonine-producing microorganism competent for DNA uptake. Advantageously, the recombinant microorganism enhances the production of L-threonine. The process comprises, A) cultivating an L-threonine-producing chromosomal fadR gene knock-out microorganism, B) inoculating a culture media with the microorganism, C) incubating the inoculated culture media for about 1 to 7 days at a temperature of about 28° to 37°C with substantially constant shaking and producing L-threonine in the fermented culture media, D) isolating the L-threonine. |
